What are NVQs?
They are work based
qualifications that assess the skills and knowledge of individuals in a
number of diverse occupations.
Who are NVQs designed
for?
Anyone involved in the
relevant occupation. In the case of Investigation examples are Police
Officers, Private Investigators, Health and Safety Investigators, or

Will I need time off?
No the NVQ is about your
daily work, or work you have done. You will of course need to allow time
for assessments to take place.
Will there be
homework?
Not as such but you will
need to allow your self sometime to compile your portfolio.
How long will it take?
That is to a point up to you
although 18 months from starting the process is the time limit. If you use NIG Academy of Investigation we would aim for four main dates
for you to complete and achieve the award. The four dates
mentioned are:
§
Induction Day
§
Portfolio Day
§
Assessment Day X2
Can you fail an NVQ?
No, but you can run out of
time.
Is there training
involved?
No, but as mentioned
previous learning can count towards the award.
Is there an exam?
No, your award is based
purely on your evidence of competence.
